DONALD KOLLER Obituary

Donald Lee Koller
Early the morning of March 7,2021, Donald Lee Koller died at home in Rockville, MD, attended by his wife Carla and children David and Danielle, who continue to be warmed and strengthened by the gift of constant, evident, and unconditional love that Don bestowed. His many gifts and passions included-music, science, food, Jewish culture, information technology (an early Apple adapter and enthusiast and a private 24/7 help desk for friends and family)-the characteristic that set Don apart was his soulful generosity, the aura of welcome and attentiveness that extended to anyone who showed up for dinner and drew neighbors and acquaintances, along with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to seek him out as a mentor or confidante. Don shared a beautiful relationship with his wife Carla-an augury of the that spanned the 44 years of their marriage, in August 1966, but that they marked by the annual celebration of their first date on July 4, 1962. Fireworks went off. He is survived by Carla, their son, David, daughter-in-law, Debbie, daughter, Danielle, husband, Doug Davidoff, grandchildren, Drew, wife Ashley, Samuel, Dylan, Elijah, Asher, along with sister, Susan Van Horne, husband, Will, sister, Laura Koller, sister-in-law Jane Sherman, husband, Kim. Tributes in honor of Don will support pancreatic cancer early detection research at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
