EILEEN MARY REGAN BARRETT
Eileen Barrett, of Rockville, MD, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, William J. Barrett, Jr.; her six children, Mary Beth Habel (Daniel), Anne Beres (Edward), William J. Barrett III (Kari), Patricia Mayo (Marc), Joseph Barrett (Wendy), and Maureen Miller (Adam); her eleven granddaughters and one grandson and many nieces and nephews. Born in the Yorkville section of New York City in 1935, she attended St. Jean Baptiste High School and graduated from St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg, MD, where she was class president and played varsity basketball all four years. Eileen served as a neonatal unit secretary at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD for twenty years. There, she was the first employee to be honored as the "Employee of the Month." Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15, at St. Patrick's Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Montgomery Hospice-Casey House, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850.

I worked for many years in the Nursery at Holy Cross with Eileen. She was cheerful, patient and hardworking. She was kind to others. Always had a smile. Glad to have worked with her.

I am sorry to learn of Eileen´s passing. I had the honor and privilege of working with her in the neonatal nursery at Holy Cross Hospital for many years. She was the epitome of service and devoted to her work. Her smile and sense of humor made even the busiest days better.
