ELEANOR WILLIAMS COLLINS
On Friday, April 22, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late John A. Collins; mother of Joanne LeBlanc, Diane Collins, Rosemary Connor, John Collins Jr, Kathleen Coolidge, and Cornelius, Michael, and Brian Collins. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her sister, Mary Harris. Predeceased by her grandson, John Lanham Collins, and her siblings, Walter and Edmund "Manny" Williams, Helen Bennington, Jeanette Cicero and Marian Zell. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, on Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I am sorry to hear of Mrs. Collins' passing. She sold our family her home in Kalmia Farms some years ago. We only met with her a few times, but all remember her very fondly as a lovely lady. I don't think my kids will ever forget her giving them oreo cookies when we came to look at the house (they still mention it when the subject comes up, although they were only 3 and 5 at the time!). The roses and lilacs that Mr. and Mrs. Collins planted are still around, as well as the "my place" doorknocker down on the party room door. Sorry for your loss... The Schwelling Family

I will never forget how beautiful your Mom was. I still remember the fun I had climbing those fruit trees in your back yard on Greenwood Ave. Your Mom was a great lady & could she bake a wonderful cake. God bless, Jeannette(Conlon)Mickey

I am so sorry for your loss Dr Collins. From the compassionate and generous way you have dealt with those of us who have fibrous dysplasia on our online support group, I imagine your mother may have been in part responsible for the way wonderful way you turned out. I'm sure she will be missed by all who knew her.
I pray God to help heal all your wounds.... that He will bless you with a powerful supernatural sense of inner peace... allow you to feel His presence and the presence of your guardian angels.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just lost my Dad about 5 weeks ago and know how much this hurts.
