Betty was a delightful, creative, generous and smart colleague. She had a wonderful ability to be honest and critical with her students but also convey unwavering support and confidence in them. She had high standards and took genuine pleasure in others' achievements--a rare combination. I learned a lot from working with her and miss her. My condolences to your family on your loss.

My deepest condolences to the Sturtevant family, especially David! In the past year, Betty routinely defied her condition to attend and participate in our weekly Parkinson practice/support groups. The power of her presence, smile, and laugh would transcend the physical limitations of her condition. She brought joy and inspiration to all that she met.
David has been a steadfast partner,a vocal advocate, and clearly a loving husband. Betty will be missed!
