Eric Tyner Obituary
TYNER ERIC TYNER (Age 32) On September 28, 2008, of Bend, OR was born November 12, 1975 in Washington, DC. He grew up in Potomac, MD until his late teenage years when his passion for the outdoors led him to Eugene, OR, where he lived for 10 years. There he met his soul mate, local artist Julie Wharfield. At the time of his death, he and Julie had been planning to settle permanently in Bend and start a family. Born with a serving heart, his compassionate nature took him to Central America where, as a teenager, he helped the Honduran school community. Eric's love for the outdoors also took him to the mountains to snowboard, camp, hike, and spend time with his and Julie's dogs, Sadie and Koa. His childhood passion for BMX dirt track racing led him to be an avid motorcycle customizer and enthusiast. He loved music, especially reggae and Hawaiian, as well as traveling in his camper. He enjoyed enhancing his camping trailer and his home in innovative ways to be self-sufficient. His creative mind had endless visions for a better way of living. He and Julie shared similar philosophies about life and deeply cared about their neighbors and their environment. Eric is survived by his partner, Julie Wharfield, of Bend, OR; his mother and stepfather, Linda and Jack Miller, of Potomac, MD; his father, John Tyner, of Rockville, MD; his sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Marcus Frazier; and their daughter, Eric‘s niece, Cadence, of Bethesda, MD; and Eric‘s grandmothers Cecilia Anchor and Chole Tyner, both of Rockville, MD. In addition, Eric leaves behind extended family and friends in the DC-metro area, as well as in Bend, OR. Eric‘s idealistic and selfless way of life was to make the world a better place. He had a strong moral compass and was a very kind and giving soul. He will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness and generous heart. Eric was cremated in Oregon.
