Eric Woolfson Obituary

BERLIN (AP) — An agent says Eric Woolfson, co-founder of the 1970s British progressive rock group Alan Parsons Project, known for the hits "Eye in the Sky" and "Don't Answer Me," has died of cancer. He was 64.

Gallissas Theaterverlag, a company that represented Woolfson in Germany, said Thursday the musician died this week in London. Woolfson's Web site said he died early Wednesday.

Woolfson was born March 18, 1945, in Glasgow, Scotland. Together with Alan Parsons he founded the group, whose music was popular in the U.S. and Germany.

After the group disbanded in the 1990s Woolfson continued to work as a music producer and composer of musicals. His musical "Edgar Allan Poe" is currently playing in Berlin.

Thank you for your music . You touched my soul and my heart. It was in the 1970's I met Gail Anderson a beautiful woman I fell in love with but never told her. Eric's music made me realize this was a big mistake in my life by listening to many of APP songs. But I did move on and met another wonderful woman who I had three great kids with. Days are numbered. Live your life and thank god that I and Eric are Jewish!

As I found out in my later years more about the APProject
I learned about Eric Wololfson contribution to that group. I love many of his writings of the songs and it was a super time in my life that I met a beautiful woman in 1976 when I was just listening to I- Robot. When I found out EW was Jewish like myself I am so proud of that and he like Alan Parsons are my favorites of music. May the he be inscribed in the book of life and the almighty blessed be he ruler of the universe give us peace to all . Time is gone forever! GAndersonRSHal-pern

I'm 40 years old and his songs especially, "Don't Answer me" and "Time" touched my soul, I am mad and sad he is gone, I cant believe it, those 2 songs are 2 of the best songs ever made in my opinion.

For Eric...

Now the angles sing
to your music.

This is for you...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Your music touched my soul...when it seemed like everything was going wrong I could retreat into a place where your music made me feel better. It seemed like your songs fit neatly into the ups and downs of my life...the good and the bad. You gave us the gift of your music and your insight into all our emotions and frailties. I never got to meet you but you were always there in my life and for that I thank you.......Be at Peace
