ERICK SALVATORE ALDANA
October 4, 1974 – September 8, 2022
Beloved father, friend and barman. An iconic bartender and sommelier in the Washington nightlife and culinary scene of the early 2000's, Sal was well known for his years of service providing laughter and sage-like wisdom to DCs wayward at establishments such as the Metro Café, Marx Café, Bardeo and CityZen in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
In recent years, Sal relocated to St. Louis and spent much of his COVID related unemployment doing outreach providing food for the homeless. Sals health took a downturn in recent months and sadly he passed away in his sleep at the age of 48. Sal leaves behind two sons, Ben and Tommy, 7 and 10. He had an incredibly bright spirit and the warmest heart. Sal will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Sals life will be held at a later date.
