CARLSON ERICK ALLEN CARLSON Erick Allen Carlson, the beloved son of Terry and Kim Carlson, passed away on December 12, 2015 from injuries sustained in a private plane accident, which sadly claimed the life of his father, Terry Carlson (pilot) and dear friend and coworker, Jason Willems (26). Erick is survived by his mother, Kim Wakeham Carlson; brother, Kent Neidhold; fiancee'', Libby Mongold; sister, Corinna Witkowski; aunts and uncles, Tammy Prestipino, Cheryl Wakeham, Vincent Prestipino, Russ Wakeham and Sid Wakeham, and cousins, Paige Prestipino, Erica Prestipino, Kerrie Prestipino, Karis Wakeham, Kyle Wakeham, Alex Wakeham, Billy Wakeham, Amber Wakeham and Sean Wakeham. Born in Fairfax, VA on March 20, 1988, Erick truly grew up on River Forest Drive, in Manassas, VA, where he experimented with every tool and motorized apparatus known to man. These experiments were often tested on family property, including a beautiful hand painted addition to his mother''s new German car at the age of 7. Erick was highly adventurous, that included skillful high speed longboarding, hiking and fishing in South America, "out of bounds" snowboarding, sky diving and his favorite of all scuba diving. Somehow in all Erick''s endeavors, he managed to earn a Bachelor''s Degree from West Virginia University in 2011, after enthusiastically fulfilling every WVU tradition known, and then some. Erick forged lifelong relationships with so many, but none more special than with his cousin Paige Prestipino (best friend), who ultimately introduced him to the love of his life, Libby Mongold. Brother Kent Neidhold and "brothers" Jason Willems, Pat and Matt Brennen will always hold a special piece of Erick''s heart. These relationships were everything to Erick, and we all knew it. Always the life of any celebration, Erick was also a dedicated, hardworking employee of Capital Edge Consulting since graduating from WVU. Erick was truly thankful to be working with his father "his absolute idol for the past three years" and more recently with Jason Willems. Erick absolutely adored his mother, and no matter where he was in the world, she would get ahold of him to be sure he was okay. Music was Erick''s love and enjoying anything outdoors. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held for Terry, Erick and Jason Willems on December 18, 2015, 2PM at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel, 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda MD, 20852.
