As manager of Comsat Labs Microwave Department I was privileged to hire Francois when he completed the Master’s program at City College in 1968. I remember Francois as much for his quiet strength of character as well as his outstanding engineering achievements.

Francois made much advancement in the field of Communications Satellites which are chronicled in Comsat Review, the Technical Magazine of Comsat Labs. And his high ethical standard is demonstrated by sharing authorship with his colleagues.

I will remember him for his warm sincere friendship.

To the Family of Francois Tsvi Assal,

Our mother was a fellow resident to Tsvi at Eden Kosher Home. We enjoyed speaking to him in Hebrew, sitting with him at the Shabbat table, singing Jewish and secular songs with him, and playing dominoes with him. We will miss his presence.

Our sincere condolences,

Tova Kaplan, Silver Spring, MD
