Fred Bruder Obituary

BRUDER

FRED E. BRUDER

It is with deep sorrow we are announcing the passing of Fred Bruder on November 25, 2022 after a long valiant battle with lymphoma.

Born in Washington, DC to the late Wallace and Helen Bruder. He then moved to Arlington, VA in 1953 and lived in the same house until he passed away at the age of 76. Fred is deeply loved and sorely missed by his dear sister, Virginia; brother "Artie"; nephews, John and Mike; nieces, Cathy and Lisa and cousins, Pat and Lynette.

Fred attended Yorktown High School, followed by carrying newspapers for five years, and mowing lawns for many years. Then carrying the US Mail for 35 years. He developed many priceless friendships!

Fred was a man of deep faith and lived it! Also, he was wild about Corvettes, Lionel Trains, all kinds of music, long walks, and Thrashers fries.

Fred's deep rich contagious love, laughter, unending kindness and generosity is his living legacy that lives on in the many beautiful hearts he has so powerfully touched. There will be no service per his request.

Fred was a very special person in so many ways. He was loyal and compassionate to the ultimate. He had a big heart with no acrimony towards any one. A great neighbor and friend. Miss him like a brother.

Fred became a wonderful caring friend to our family when he was a mail carrier in my parents neighborhood. We continued the friendship after my parents death. Fred always was upbeat and welcoming. Never said a bad word about anyone. He had a fantastic work ethic and a fantastic role model for the young and old. He will be missed by many and will always be in our hearts.

Fred became an adopted member of the running team I coach after getting to talk with him week after week on his early morning walks around the Yorktown track over these past few years. We shared our passion for cars and he loved talking about his trips to see his family who he cherished so much. He looked after the team and helped cheer them on throughout the workout and always gave this coach needed encouragement as well. He made standing in the cold at 6am so warm and bright and we miss him dearly.

Fred was a great friend, he visited us in Winchester more than once a year and played a great game of pool! Obituary was right on target. Have been trying to find him for several weeks. Will miss his smile and attitude! We were in HS together.

Fred was a one-of-a-kind, caring and considerate individual with an admiration of hot rods and trains. Bombing around in his Vette w/ the top down in cold weather, remembering he was once bestowed the asserted name as the Mayor of Arlington County. We lost a true friend.

God blessed us when Fred came into our lives. He was a devoted Christian who loved life, and his family and friends. Fred will be missed by all and will live on in the many memories we made over the years. Rest in Peace.
