FULLER MURFREE Obituary


FULLER E. MURFREE  June 3, 1930 - July 11, 2013  
Passed away at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. after a brief and sudden illness. He was born in Chadbourn, NC and grew up in Warsaw, NC. Graduated from Douglas High School in Warsaw and from Shaw University where he was a member of Alpha Pi Alpha fraternity. After college he became an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. Air Force; which led him to a career in the Washington, DC area as an Information Specialist with the federal government. He retired in the early 90's. He married Sally O. Pulley of Spring Hope, NC. Survivors include, son Martin J. Murfree (Teresa) of Cheverly, MD; daughter Lynn C. Murfree of Washington, DC; granddaughter Erica N. Murfree of Temple Hills, MD; grandson Malik J. Murfree; granddaughter Aaliyah B. Murfree; great-granddaughter Troi Johnson; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother I. W. Murfree of Oxford. NC. Services were held for Fuller and I.W. Murfree together on Monday, July 15, 3 p.m. at Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Turkey, NC. Interment Murfree Family Cemetery in Warsaw, NC.
