Gary Lefkowitz Obituary

Age 76, on February 21, 2026, of Springfield, VA. Beloved husband of Dolores Leonowich Lefkowitz, son of the late Morris and Lillian, father of Jacob (Karen) and Paul (Maria). Brother of the late Eli and Bruce Shuter, and twin brother Michael. Gary grew up in Spring Valley, NY and was a lifelong NY sports fan. Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Boston College Law School. Career ERISA law specialist at the Department of Labor. Cherished Hebrew School teacher at Congregation Adat Reyim, taught 5th Grade for 37 years and tutored hundreds of students for Bar & Bat Mitzvah. In recent years, officiated over 600 weddings for former students and Northern Virginia couples. Private internment at Fairfax Memorial Park. Celebration of Life to be held at Congregation Adat Reyim, March 4 at 7 pm, and online adatreyim.org. Donations may be made to Blood Cancer United, bloodcancerunited.org.
