HATTIE GRIMES Obituary
HATTIE LEE GRIMES (Age 84)
Entered into Eternal Life on Monday, February 10, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Darcel (Johnny) Lloyd and Johnetta A. Grimes; grandchildren, Johnny G. and Jaron Lloyd; sister, Lillie O. Scott; nieces, Constance Philippe, Rev. Earleen Williams, Peggy Davis and Ila Blue; nephew, Robert Holloway, Jr.; cousin, Isaac Brown. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. The late Mrs. Grimes will lie in state on Monday, February 17 at St. Judah Spiritual Baptist Church, 43 Anacostia Rd., NE, Washington, DC from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon. Interment Glenwood Cemetery on Tuesday. Services by B.K. HENRY FUNERAL CHAPEL.

Johnetta and Darcel, I was so sorry to hear of "Mother's" passing. I regret that did not make it to the funeral; but I didn't find out until Sat. Feb, 22, when Kevin Smith, Kenny Ross, Bo Lee and myself got together for our monthly "Boys Day Out". Would have loved to had seen you "Doll". It goes with out saying that Hattie was a great, kind and knowledgeable soul. God Bless her and you all. Jimmy

Darcel, I am so very sorry to hear about Hattie. Your Mother was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. I know Beverly will be lost without her. Cheerful thoughts like a flower can brighten any day. We could ALWAYS count on Ma Hattie for a cheery smile, easy warmth, a laugh, a word or two , piece of her mind, logical of course and plain ole JOY. Of course no one can give updates on Days of our lives & GH like "Ma" via Susie's cell phone.
