HELEN C. CHARLES
On Friday, November 25, 2016, HELEN C. CHARLES of Bethesda, MD passed away peacefully while surrounded by her adoring children and grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late George James Charles; devoted mother of James, Deborah, Malisa (Gus) and Constance; cherished grandmother of Ulysses (Amalia), George, Eleni, Elisabeth, and Jack. The family will receive friends Monday, December 5, 2016 at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th St. & Mass Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20007 from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests donations be made to The Father John Mosaic Restoration Fund at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Dear Jimmy and Debby, Connie, Malisa,Gus, and Constance,
You have my deepest sympathy on the passing of your MOTHER. I remember with great fondness and love the many hours we spent preparing for many festivals at Saint Sophia. Not only was she a tireless worker, but when a shortage of some kind would appear, she was able to find a quick solution. There was always joy in her heart and a magnificent smile on her face. She demonstrated with her behavior and actions that she a devout Christian. I certainly will miss her and keep her in my prayers.
