Mr. Gray I remember always playing tennis in Highland Gardens a True Patriot of the Booker T Holmes, Highland Gardens neighborhood. A Mentor to all the males he came in contact with.

Viola and Family,
No words, however kindly meant, can take away your pain at this time, but please know that I hope days to come will ease your pain. Through God all things are possible and all hurts are healed. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.

Mr. Gray, "Big Herb", was an inspiration to us as youth in our neighborhood. Whether it was as the Basketball Coach at Bladensburg or as a neighbor, older than us tennis players on the one neighborhood court we had in Seat Pleasant, he was truly an inspiration. Big Herb always had great advice for the young men and women pursuing sports and education. We tennis players were awed by his stamina on the tennis court and his ability to whip us at times. He certainly made me and my friends better tennis competitors. Mr. Gray even had advice for my sons who were on AAU teams. He was always smiling, and always listening, and always giving needed
advice. Mr. Gray, Big Herb, will be greatly missed.
Both Sandy and I (Jack Rosser) and our children John and Sean send our condolences to the Gray family

Viola and family I will miss those visits whenever my cousin came to Goochland.
Conversations were long, but good and sometimes comical. You have our sympathy.
