Hubert Thebo Obituary

Andrew "Andy" Thebo of Bethesda, Maryland passed away January 15, 2025, after a short illness. He was born December 2, 1930 in Washington, DC to Loretta Grace and Hubert Andrew Thebo.
He is survived by the "love of his life" of 61 years, Barbara Forbes Thebo. They spent their first nine years together in the South Pacific and have one daughter, Christine Forbes Thebo.
Andy was a graduate of Roosevelt High School where he was an anchor on the first televised high school sports show broadcast from the Harrington Hotel Studio. (WTTG/Fox 5). He was also sports editor of the high school sports show on WWDC in Washington. He graduated from the University of Maryland Business School and enjoyed his time as a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
Andy will be remembered for his passion for Washington sports teams and the University of Maryland. His sense of humor, love of history, cutting out relevant newspaper articles to send to friends and family and the growing of summer tomatoes will be missed by all. He most enjoyed time spent with family and friends at Deauville Beach, Rehoboth, DE.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters; Rosemary McCarney (Stan), Joan Bier (Nard), Bali Marshall (Randy) and Jane Kane (Gene).
He will be greatly missed by his large extended family of nieces and nephews and close friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Potomac, Maryland. Visitation will start at 10:15 a.m.
