HUGH EAGLETON Obituary
Hugh Edward Eagleton
Died on November 11, 2021. He enriched the lives of many, esp. his wife Jean and kids, Jennifer Eagleton (Tom DeLeire), Jonathan Eagleton, and Katherine Brown (Brandon); and grandkids Hadley, Cole, Peyton, Logan, Jackson, Patrick, Gavin.After graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and receiving his naval commission, he and Jean moved to Coronado. Hugh became a Captain in the Naval Reserves. Like his dad, mom and grandmom, he was dedicated to Children's Hospital. He served on the Emeritus Board and was a member of the Guardian Society. He was a trustee of the HealthCare Council and was in the VFW.An avid sailor, he was passionate about the Tarheels, playing hearts, winning Children's Hospital's Chili Bull after arriving on a fire truck. We miss you. A service will occur later at Arlington National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please celebrate Hugh with donations to Children's National Hospital Fdn, ATTN: Gift Admin, 1 Inventa PL, 6th FL West, Silver Spring MD 20910: 301-565-8463.

I am saddened to learn of Hugh´s passing. I worked with him for a number of years at the FDIC. He always had a ready smile and was a favorite colleague of many.

Sincere sympathy to the Eagleton family. Hugh was a good friend for three decades. Always upbeat, ready with a cheerful word or story to brighten your day. Loved his exploits about high school basketball, time at North Carolina U, his Navy days and the many exploits about his civic achievements. He often extolled the good times with his beloved family. There were too many memorable moments to mention them here. Hugh's passing is a great loss. RIP Captain, may you be at peace in the heavens or at sea. "Anchors Away" good friend.
