I always got a long with Judge Conroy. I had nickname for him, it was "Pretty Boy". I told him this before I retired. He laughed and ask me how I came up with that. He was always dressed very nice. He told me to enjoy my retirement and I have.

Aindrea and Conroy family: hard to believe it's been 7 years. I still remember Mike like it was yesterday, as president of BAMC then MSBA and as a judge. Best regards.

Several years ago Jugde Conroy sentenced my son to 6 months in jail and probation. When my son was released my brother and I asked him to allow him to move to Montana where my brother lives. I needed him to be far away from "people, places, and things". Because of his compassion my son is now enrolled at Montana State U. and is in the honors economic program. He saved his life. As a mom I could never thank him enough or repay him. I will be forever grateful and will keep him in my prayers. Thank you for him. He will be truly missed. He was the most honest and fair judge I have ever known. My deepest sympathy for your family.

I have always had the utmost respect for Mike as an attorney. Without him on your side likely you did not have a shot at winning your case. What a shock to hear of his passing..gone too soon.

I was sadden to learn of the death of Judge Conroy. I worked with him for the years he had at the district court. He told me goodbye when I retired and talked to me about my retirement. I had a nickname for him, which was "pretty boy". It was all in good fun and when he came to be a judge, he told me to call him "Judge Mike", which I didn't do. He always had a smile for me and was very nice and polite. I'm sure his family will miss him very much. When he spoke of his children, it was with a lot of pride. My sympathy goes out to the family, friends and co-workers.

Aindrea, it was just days ago that you and your Dad were enjoying the MSBA meeting in Ocean City - you were deep in lively discussion together during the President's Reception (Mike being a former MSBA president among other things). Such a shock. Your Dad, a great leader, will be sorely missed.

Growing up in Kenwood, I knew Mike although he was definitely ahead of me in many ways. Later in the law and out and around we got to know each other more. He always had a good thing to say. A truly delightful man whom we will miss. My thoughts are with the Conroy clan.

When I got out of the Air Force JAG program in 1988, I sent out about 200 resumes to Montgomery County firms. Mike was one of only two to call me in for an interview and I was hired onto Mike's litigation team at Conroy, Fitzgerald, Ballman and Dameron. We had a great group of fun, young attorneys and a championship softball team. I will always be grateful to Mike for making me part of his law firm. To this day, I am close friends with several former associates. Thanks again, your honor.

Judge Conroy was a good and kind judge. He was always kind to parties appearing before him and to the victims our office assisted. He was able to get to the heart of the matter, and make solid decisions. His death was a tremendous shock, and a sad loss for everyone who knew him. Condolences to all who knew and loved him. R.I.P.

Judge Conroy was a treasured friend who will be deeply missed. We were Presidents of adjoining Bars at the same time (he was President of Martyland Bar, I was President of DC Bar). Later we served on the governing Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents together. He was always professional, insightful, and engaged - a man of dedication and integrity.

To the Conroy family, Mike was a wonderful boss, lawyer and judge. I was so happy I was able to sit in his courtroom on a trip back to Maryland and watch him preside over cases. I cannot look at a can of Pepsi and M&Ms without thinking about my daily trip to the deli for him. Thank you for all you taught me and did for me personally. Gone too soon.

As a kid, my fondest memories of Judge Conroy were watching he and John battle it out in the most intense one-on-one basketball games ever played in Newington Court. I will never forget, years later, when I applied to law school and Judge Conroy wrote an incredible letter of recommendation on my behalf, and without my having to beg! Though soft-spoken and of few words, he had a truly Irish way of making everyone around him feel good about themselves. I will always remember Judge Conroy as a world-class attorney, a die-hard Notre Dame fan, and the proud owner of a well-rusted, light-blue Mercedes convertible manufactured during the Taft Administration. But mostly, I will remember him as a devoted, loving father who was prouder of his two children than they can even begin to imagine. Please know that my thoughts, sympathies, and prayers are with your family during this difficult and tragic time.

Deepest sympathy. To his family and his children. Mike was extraordinary, even in high school. He was pretty good on the tennis court. His desk was next to mine and he always made me smile in the morning when I was half asleep coming in from 20 miles out in Northern Virginia. "When Irish eyes are smiling..." I remember he would smile even through his dental work. Incredible spirit. Fun in his very nature. We just had our 50th High School Class Reunion, and Mike looked 10 years younger than most of the guys. It is stunning, and with
sadness and sorrow to receive such news from St. John's.
Our deepest condolences. Respectfully
