JACK WEISS Obituary


JACK OWEN WEISS  
Born June 7, 1945 in Philadelphia, lost his courageous, three year battle with mantle cell lymphoma on January 31, 2014. He married Sharon Korman of Washington, DC in 1970 and devoted his life to helping young people. He was a resident of Great Falls, Va. and a highly respected counselor at McLean High School for over 25 years. Jack was a loving husband and uncle, a life-long Philadelphia sports fan, and a die-hard Wizards fan. He leaves behind his wife, Sharon K. Weiss, sister, Judith Trost, and brother, Robert Weiss, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland Street, McLean, Va. 22043 Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 3 p.m. Shiva will be observed at the Weiss home on the evenings of February 6 and 8 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Cancer Research at www.focr.org, 202-944-6700 or The Herb Cohen Fund at www.herbcohenmemorialfund.org.

To all those who knew Jack we will miss him. My deepest sympathies to Sharon who was the light of his life and kept him afloat in this long and arduous trial. My thoughts are with you all. Maddie Zimmerman
