JACQUELINE EVA JOHNSON BATTLE
On November 3, 2017, Jacqueline Eva Johnson Battle of Mitchellville, MD went home to be with the Lord after a short illness with ALS. She leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years Melvin, her daughter Patrice, five grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Viewing to be held at 9:30 am and Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Largo, MD 20774. Burial at Arlington Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J.B. Melvin, Patrice and Family... thank you for sharing such a wonderful person with us, (me) we cried together when they took my dog into custody (her love for animals) she assisted me in the raising of my son, a grandmother to him she choose to be. Her grace, dignity and compassion for life and others is how she inspired me. I can only pray that when it is all said and done I have lived my life in JB's footsteps. My Mother, Mentor, sistergirl and shoe expert. You will forever be in my heart.

Melvin and Patrice- Jackie was amongst the first person I met coming to Camp Springs SSA office to work. My supervisor. You cannot image the influence she has had, her leadership and love she gave to so many people. It is not common that someone becomes "a true friend" outside of a work environment .Thank you thank you thank you for sharing her;thank you for giving the help and advice she volunteered you to do for us, her friends. Dear Melvin and Patrice,
I met Jackie over 30 years ago at the SSA in Camp Springs, MD. She became one of the best supervisors I ever had. She was always encouraging and admonished us to be excellent. I have never forgotten the lessons she taught us. She also showed us how to be excellent wives and mothers. Her friendship was invaluable. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Dear Melvin & Family - As you know, we were very fond of Jackie. She was always a spark of positive energy, wit and enthusiasm, even in her challenging moments. What a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh she had.
