Jacqueline Thomas Obituary

THOMAS JACQUELINE BROWN THOMAS (Age 85) Of Woodbridge, VA died at her home on February 10, 2011. Born in 1925 in Lovettsville, VA, Jackie continued her education at the Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C, from which she graduated in October 1943. During WWII, she did volunteer services at the Pepsi Cola Service center which is where she met her beloved husband, who was in the Marine Corps. From 1959 - 1989, Jacqueline was the school secretary at R. Dean Kilby Elementary School. During her many years at Kilby Elementary, Jacqueline created many treasured friendships that endured the rest of her life. She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Jackie loved sports, especially golf and football, and was an avid Washington Redskin's fan. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Boyd Thomas; her nieces, Linda Brown Jefferies and Gayle Frank Askins; and her nephew, Stephen Brown. Jacqueline is survived by her nieces and nephews, John Brown and his wife Cindi, Tommy Frank and his wife Peggy, and Donna Frank Barton and her husband Tim. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her faithful companion of many years, George Leiper. Family and friends will be received at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. A life celebration service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1400 G. Street, Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
