JAIME CARINO Obituary

JAIME M. CARINO
Jaime M. Carino passed away peacefully at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California at the age of 74 on March 10, 2014.  Jaime was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather to his grandchildren. He loved golf, traveling, music, and dining out. He was clever, hilarious, a marketing genius. He was a lot of things to so many people. He lived his life to the fullest and made each one he touched feel extra special. He had such a unique power of association, and an unbeatable capacity to make any complex theme as easy as a children's book, which made him such a magnet to people.  Jaime graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an MDP from the Asian Institute of Management. He was a member of the Pan Xenia fraternity, an International Honorary Fraternity dedicated to the promotion of interests in foreign trade and the establishment of higher standards and ideals of business ethics. After graduation, Jaime joined United Laboratories, the largest pharmaceutical company in the Philippines. He quickly rose the ranks to become Managing Director in Asia and Assistant to the President. In the United States, Jaime M. Carino founded Chartered Forex Inc. in 1983, a money transfer company to the Philippines. In 1987, he established Forex Cargo Inc. to handle the deliveries of packages of Filipino Americans to the Philippines. Following the success of Forex in the Americas, similar operations were established in Europe, Australia and Asia.  A memorial service to honour and remember him was held at the St. John Fisher Church, 5448 Crest Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 on March 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Reception followed at the Los Verdes Golf Course, 7000 W. Los Verdes Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
