James Alsop Obituary

JAMES W. ALSOP (Age 64)
Of Fairfax, VA passed away at his home on August 21, 2011 as a result of a long battle with lung cancer. His friends and family were by his side when he drifted off to be with his mother Pearl Alsop, who preceded him in heaven. Jim's life would seem too short to many but those who crossed his path enjoyed all of the smiles and laughter he brought to everyone. He prided himself in putting a smile on everyone's face and being a "big kid" to all of the children. He enjoyed his motorcycle, being out on that open road on two wheels, the wind in his face and his friend by his side. His family and friends will love and miss him always. Now he is off to ride in the sky. Survived in life by his loving wife Sharon Alsop; their daughter Crystal Metras and her husband Patrick; one brother Robert Alsop and his wife Dianne; along with four grandchildren Noah Huntington, Peyton Metras, Haley Murrah and Jessica Jones. Please wear your motorcycle gear and join the family at Arlington National Cemetery on October 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. for a graveside service, with reception to follow at Fort Myer Officer's Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org/ donate.php www.fmfh.com

Jim, you will be missed, never forgotten. I think you were a great husband and an awesome father. The world was a better place because you were here. I will remember your smile and kindness most of all. Rest in peace. Thanks for being so good to my cousin.
