I worked with Dr. Bacos at the Washington Hospital Center as a Monitoring Technician, and a Cardiovascular Technician. It was indeed an honor to have worked with him. He and Mike Bovin are responsible for establishing the first Cardiovascular Technician training program in this area.
The program gave individuals like myself the opportunity to learn Cardiology from one of the best programs in in DC area. This program has been a launching pad for techs and nurses to become Managers, Directors, Nurse Practitioners, Sales Representatives and Corporate leaders.
I have so many memories of Dr. B, with my fondest memory of the many pool parties at his house. The parties allowed his staff the opportunity to have fun and fellowship. Dr. Bacos encouraged the CVT's to throw other physicians in the pool. After tossing doc's in the pool he was the only physician dry so we threw him in. Every time we threw him in he simply changed his clothes and returned with a new outfit. Spanking new polo shirt and shorts with the collar turned up. White, blue and pink, he had all the colors and shorts to match. He was such a stylish guy.
What a Man, he is responsible in my career for the person that I am today.+
Dr.B would sing a song at the drop of a hat, tell bad jokes and at Thanksgiving sing an opening hym before we ate.
I worked with many great doctors while at WHC, and I will never ever forget Dr. B..
