James Farrall Obituary


JAMES B. FARRALL "Bernie"  June 14, 1941 - June 4, 2011  
Bernie Farrall, formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away on June 4, 2011, in his home in Shallotte, NC after an eight month battle with cancer. He retired from NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Pat Abell of the home; ex-wife Annette Farrall; three sons, Jeffrey Farrall and wife, Lynn of Owings, MD; Patrick Farrall and wife, Tracy of Ellicott City, MD; and Christopher Farrall of Takoma Park, MD. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Chelsea Farrall, Rachael Farrall, Nicole Farrall and Parker Farrall. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date in Glenn Dale, MD. In lieu of flowers, you may send a contribution in his name to: Lower Cape Fear Hospice (Brunswick Campaign), 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Pat, I never had the pleasure or honor of meeting Bernie...through a dear friend, Valerie Fleming, I learned so much about him...his wit, his kindness and his friendship to his fellow workers...I think it is a real tribute to someone such as Bernie, that a complete stranger was so moved by his goodness and kindness...that speaks volumes about him. I regret I never met him but Valerie sure made a believer out of me that he was a wonderful human being...From a stranger...God Rest you Bernie and Peace Be With you Pat....Bobby
