JAMES GYURICZA Obituary
Dr. JAMES L. GYURICZA "Jim"
Dr. James "Jim" L. Gyuricza, of McLean, VA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away on September 5, 2021 after a year long battle with colon cancer. He was born on January 30, 1949, in New York City. A graduate of Christ the King High School (1966), Niagara University (1970), and Georgetown Dental School (1974), he continued his training with a general practice residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC. He opened his own dental practice in 1975 and recently retired after 44 years. An avid golfer, he enjoyed friends and competitions at Country Club of Fairfax as well as at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He is survived by Regina "Gina", his wife of 50 years, and children James and Julie Gyuricza of Decatur, GA and Doug and Cassie Root of Arlington, VA. Jim absolutely loved his role as "Papa" to six grandsons Jack, Samuel, and Grant Gyuricza, and Ryland, Griffin and Coleson Root. A visitation will be held on Monday September 13, 5 to 8 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday September 14, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna, VA. Donations can be made to the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic (novadentalclinic.org) where Jim volunteered and the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center (lombardi.georgetown.edu).

Jim, I remember when Fr. Mac taught you to be an OLA altar server at the young age of 5 years old - unheard at that time.

Gina I just learned of this unfortunate news and am so sorry . He was my dentist for 25 years and I have special memories of the cards I would receive from him when I went through breast cancer. I am heart broken because he was so special to so many of us . May you find peace in gods decision .
