Jim and Coleen were my neighbors on Stuyvesant Pl until I moved to Florida in 2003. They were a lovely couple and very helpful to me when I first moved to DC from New York. My condolences to the family.

Jim was a good buddy during our years at St. John's. We had a lot of laughs together. He had a great sense of humor and a warm heart. Sadly, we lost touch after high school, but the memory of Jim, his laughter, and his friendship have remained in my mind and heart all these years later. I will remember Jim in my prayers. Requiescat en pace.

More important than the years of Friday night conversations and myriad squash matches was the pleasure Jim took in attending my son's musical performances and his installations as the first alter boy for Spanish-language masses at St. Raphael and then Christ the King. It was all about family and faith and childhood development for Jim. A great gentleman and role model for those of us of all ages.

My deepest condolences to the family of a great man. I don't know how many hours we spent playing hoops at 34th St. with Zeke and an vast assortment of DC hoops freaks, but it was many, many. Jim always played with a gracious competitiveness...mostly competitiveness, and always with a smile afterward. Such fond memories of this SJC guy.

Dear Colleen, Molly and Family,

I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. While it has been many years since we enjoyed good times on Surrey Lane, I will always remember his warmth and kindness. May his spirit be eternal, and may the memories of a great life and family help to ease the sadness in your hearts. May he rest in peace!

Dear Colleen,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry for your unbearable loss. I remember well your beautiful beginning when we were at Dunbarton and it seems that your love story has continued for all these years. A love interrupted is an awful thing, but itt can never die, it belongs to you two forever.

Right now, I know it is hard, but try to hold on to the words of Pope John Paul II, We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!.

Ahhh Coleen and kids: I was so sorry to hear about your wonderful husband and father. If one's life can be measured by how many smiles he brought to the faces of those close to him then Jim is certainly now at rest with his folks and baby Kevin. He was a constant friend and generous in his affections. His loss is surely a deep wound of sadness for all who knew him.

I met him playing basketball across from the Avalon in 1954. He always was very nice everyone. I never remember him losing temper. He was a very steadying force. I last saw him in 1991 at the St. Johnn's-DeMatha football game when his son Justin was playing. A great husband, a great dad and I'm sure a great grand dad. God Bless his Soul. RIP
