James Ignatious Smith

James ("Jim") Ignatious Smith of Washington, DC, age 78, died on December 10, 2025, following a courageous battle against cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer of the bile ducts. Jim is survived by his loving partner of 50 years, Michael ("Mike") O'Dell, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless dear friends. In addition to thanking the many friends and family who were so supportive during Jim's battle, special thanks are extended to his oncologist, Dr. Benjamin Weinberg, and the many other wonderful people at Georgetown University Hospital who provided supportive and loving care.
