James Michael Sullivan "Jim"  
A longtime resident of Potomac, MD, passed away on September 1, 2018 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 15, 1943 in Cambridge, MA to the late Ben and Edith Sullivan. Beloved husband of 52 years to Joan. Loving father of Jim Jr. (Lucy) Sullivan, Katie (Bob) Tyson and Brian (Jen) Sullivan and the late Patricia Sullivan. Joyful grandfather to Beatrice and Mary Agnes Sullivan; Molly, Emma and the late Maggie Tyson; Jack, Abby, Brendan, Elizabeth and Patrick Sullivan. Brother to Dave and the late Bob Sullivan. Jim attended Boston College for his undergraduate business degree and the University of Connecticut for his MBA. He enjoyed a varied and rewarding career, most notably more than 25 years as an Executive at Marriott International.Jim was very involved in his community and the Catholic Church, serving in leadership roles in numerous organizations. He was especially proud of being a Co-Founder and President of Potomac Community Resources, an organization that serves individuals with developmental differences.Friends may call on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD where Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, September 6 at Noon. Internment private. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family through donations to Potomac Community Resources. Please sign the online register book atwww.devolfuneralhome.com

It its with great sadness that I learned from Matignon "61 that Jim had passed. I have known Jim since first grade at St. Teresa School in Somerville and we have been classmates through Matignon and Boston College. I send my prayers to his family. May he rest in peace. Patricia McNulty Harte.

Deepest sympathies to the Sullivan Family at this time of loss. Jim was a man of great faith and good works. Many of those good works will live on for many years. I am one that was greatly blessed and taught by Jim and I will be forever grateful for all that he did for me. Hundreds of others have been similarly blessed. Hopefully, the Sullivan Family can joy in the goodness of this man who did much for others. Our prayers are with you at this time.
