JAMES THURMAN TAYLOR (Age 85) Major, U.S. Army (Ret.)

March 31, 1937- August 3, 2022



Vietnam veteran James Thurman Taylor completed his final tour of duty on August 3, 2022, at the age of 85. James (Jim) was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and an inspiration to his family and all who knew him.



A graduate of Central State University and the Graduate School of Georgetown University, Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1979. After retiring from the military, he worked with several defense contractors and the Voice of America radio network.



Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Joan; sons Jim (and wife Elise Lemire and son Eli Taylor-Lemire) and Ken (and wife Wanda and sons Jacob Taylor and Caleb Taylor); and siblings Shirley, Ruby, and Walter, in-laws, nieces and nephews, close family relatives and great friends.



A celebration of life service will be held at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park immediately following the service.
