James Williams Obituary


James Dale Williams   "JD" (Age 80)  
On Monday January 9, 2017 in Bethesda MD, devoted father of John Earl and Margaret Rose passed away. JD had many accomplishments in his life proudly serving in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. Graduate of the University of Maryland and TKE Alumni, JD was a teacher, served on the Republican National Committee, St. Jude's Hospital, Red Cross, National Board of Realtors, Past President and member of Prince Georges Association of Realtors, Past Commander and Treasurer of the United States Power Squadron, Lions Club, Master Mason and member of Potomac Lodge #5 F.A.A.M., and many other organizations and charities. Member of the First United Methodist church for 52 years during his time with the church he became a Certified Lay Minister, Chair of the HIV/AIDS Awareness, chair of the Safety and Security team, Staff/Parish Relationship committee, United Methodist Men, mission work which took him around the world many times, and to many different countries. Preceding JD in death are parents John and Margaret Williams, and brother, Darrell. JD is survived by his son, John E. Williams (Lisa); daughter, Margaret R. Williams, and his grandchildren, Bradley, Josie, Lauren and Christa; JD's sisters, Connie (Mike) Trickett and Joyce Friend; sister-in-law, Darrell's wife, Catherine Williams and many nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be January 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hyattsville, MD. In honor of JD's love of teaching and continuing education any memorial donations would graciously be accepted in lieu of flowers. Please make memorial donations out to "Williams Grandkids Education Fund" and mail them to 6309 Baltimore Ave., Suite 101, Riverdale, Maryland 20737www.gaschs.com
