Jerome Liess

Of Fairfax, Virginia, passed peacefully with family by his side December 17, 2023. He is the beloved husband of 67 years to Enid Liess; loving father of Michael Liess and Roberta Greenspon; cherished grandfather of Jason Liess, Max Dylan Greenspon, Brooke Greenspon, and Sarah Liess. Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, Jerry was a graduate of University of Wisconsin (UW) and UW Law School. He worked as an attorney for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Jerry was an active member of Beth El Hebrew Congregation, an avid tennis player and jogger, and a fanatic Green Bay Packers fan. After retirement, he was a volunteer at Fairfax Hospital, Mason Neck State Park, and as an ombudsman at a retirement facility. Jerry loved gardening, hiking, travel and his primary love was his family, whether as husband, father, grandfather, brother, or uncle. A funeral service will be held at Beth El Hebrew Congregation, 3830 Seminary Road, Alexandria, VA 22304 on Wednesday, December 20 at 11 a.m. Interment at King David Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerry's memory may be made to Beth El Hebrew Congregation at the above listed address.
