JoAnn Hood "Sissy"

A virtuous woman was born in 1947. JoAnn graduated from Spingarn High in DC in 1965 and received her B.A. from Federal City College. She was an astute businesswoman, enjoyed music, shopping, and entertaining her friends. She had an outstanding personality. If you knew JoAnn, you loved JoAnn. JoAnn transitioned from labor to reward on her birthday, June 19, 2023. She leaves her husband, David Hood; daughter, Vanessa Hood; brother, David Forrest (Judy); nephew, Nathan Froe; aunt, Mildred Sullivan; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Gaithree Forrest; sister, Deborah Evans (née Forrest); brothers, Jerome Forrest and Christopher Forrest; and stepson, Lawrence Hood. Services will be on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, 610 Rhode Island Ave. NE, Washington, DC. Viewing: 10 a.m., Service 11 a.m., Interment: Maryland National Memorial Cemetery in Laurel, MD.

My sincere condolences for the Hood family. Jo Ann was a good friend and real estate agent. Jo Ann taught assisted and mentored a lot of people. She was loved by evshe is living with the angels now. Let herlife actions serve as a guide for all of us. will see her I. The future. Jo Ann ...we love you and we had loads of fun while on this earth. Now it´s time for you to be at peace I. Heaven.
