JOHN PAUL GRILLBORTZER, SR. (Age 67)
Of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Grillbortzer; son of Mary C. and the late William E. Grillbortzer, Jr.; brother of Janet M. and the late James E. Grillbortzer. Also survived by two children, seven grandchildren, two nieces and multiple great-nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Army Reserve and a guitarist for the Shenandoah Drifters. Private graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I am so sorry for your loss. I am trying to locate relatives of my Grandmother Cunningham, whose father was David Grillbortzer-mother Lula Eliza Lucretia Talbot; her grandfather was Jacob. H. Grillbortzer-Grandmother Hannah, and they were from Austria and Germany--they came to Alexandria, Va. back in the 1800's--the name is an unusual one, so I am trying to track down relations. Jacob Heinrich (chngd. to Henry) was buried in Bethel cemetery in Alexandria, Va. One relative owned a floral business--we believe David Grillbortzer was married twice--his 1st wife was my great-grandmother, Lula Talbot

I remember John, from Catechism classes at St. Judes as a kid and Wheaton HS. He always was smiling and laughing. Very nice guy. May he rest in peace.
