Many great men walk this earth but few leave foot prints the likes of those John G. Grimes has left us. John led several generations on paths to success through kindness and generosity of wisdom and spirit. He had the vision to see the tremendous potential in all of us - his aspiration was to make us great too. It was my greatest honor to be your senior military assistant and friend; you are a warrior, hero and brother in arms. John, I love you and I miss you so much. Forever and always, Key

So sorry to read. John Grimes was one of a kind. I worked with him and for him and I respected him very much. He was a true patriot. His loss marks the end of an era.

Mr. Grimes was a true gentleman and I learned a lot from him when he was the DoD CIO. We traveled around the Pacific theater together visiting US military and allies. He always showed how much he cared about our people. He mentored so many of us. May God bring you peace during this difficult time.

To Connie Grimes and the Grimes family, Christa and I want to express our deepest sorrow for the loss of our dear friend, John Grimes. We will always remember John as kind, thoughtful and appreciative of Christa's neighborly help when he served at the White House and the Pentagon. We will miss our frequent telephone chats. John will always be in our memory as a good neighbor and true friend.
