John Walton Larmer II "Jack" (Age 79)

John (Jack) Walton Larmer of McLean, Virginia died peacefully on December 5, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.

Jack was born in Washington, DC to the late Walton and Thelma Larmer. He was raised in Arlington, VA, attended Bishop Denis J O'Connell High School as the first graduating class in 1961. Jack was very active in high school where he enjoyed acting and playing football and where he earned the name "Charmer Larmer" based on his smile that would not quit. It was at O'Connell that Jack made lifelong friends and met the love of his life and wife of almost 55 years Kathryn (Kay) Rooney Larmer.

Jack had many passions. He enjoyed golf, sailing, tennis, bocce ball, and racing motorcycles. But, his biggest passion was his family. Both of his kids say their dad was always there for them. He was their hero. Jack and Kay took their family every year at spring break to various locations for quality family time to always stay connected.

After graduating from college, Jack became a CPA and a government consultant. This plus his entrepreneurial spirit and vision, lead him to grow Soza into a cutting-edge company acquired by Perot Systems. That eventually was absorbed as part of NTT Data. During this time, Jack was a mentor to many young people who then went on to start their own companies or are now leaders in their industry. Coming out of retirement, Jack joined Sentrillion as President. This company now has become mission critical for our nation's safety.

Jack lived life on his terms full of love and laughter. Jack was the life of the party, consummate professional and leader, and the one you could rely on when things got tough. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a cherished friend. He touched and enriched the lives of so many. Our world is a better place because of him, and he will forever be in our hearts.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents John and Thelma Larmer. He is survived by his wife Kathryn (Kay) Larmer; his two children, Kristine Kokolakis and her husband Jonathan Kokolakis of McLean, VA and John (Casey) Larmer and wife Giselle Larmer of McLean, VA; and his five grandchildren, Katie, Sean, Jack, Julianne, and Kyleigh. He is also survived by his sister Janet Farrell and her husband Terry Farrell of Columbia, MD.

A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd.SE, Vienna, VA 22182 on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. with a celebration of his life immediately following at Westwood Country Club, 800 Maple Ave. E, Vienna, VA 22180.
