I grew up thinking that everyone had a special relationship with their nextdoor neighbors. I would speak of the McNickle's as my nextdoor neighbors and was surprised to see no spark of recognition in people's eyes. To me, I was as close with my neighbors as with my cousins, perhaps even closer.

I will always remember Mr. McNickle as a true gentleman, a wonderful father, a great storyteller, and the best nextdoor neighbor you could ask for.

My deepest condolences to the whole family and your friends.
