Dear Joan,
I am so very, very sorry to learn of Jay's death. The last I heard from Mary was that you had moved to Winchester and were building a new house. I guess I am too much of a loner these days. Jay was such a nice person and, I am sure, a good husband and father. My sympathies to you and your family. Best wishes.

Joan, we are sorry to hear of the passing of John. I had the pleasure of working with him during my 22 years at the Smithsonian, the last 15 years as his supervisor, in the old BMD and OPLANTS. I enjoyed his knowledge and sense of humor. He will be missed.
