JOSEPH DOOLEY Obituary

JOSEPH DOOLEY
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Michael Dooley, who died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 75 after a two-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret; his two sons, Brian and Jeffrey; and his daughter-in-law, Dayana. Joe was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Joseph Francis and Ruth Kincade Dooley. In high school, he was a state champion sprinter, and he attended college at the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1968. He served in the Army for 16 years - in the Signal corps, Finance corps and Judge Advocate General's corps - rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel. During that span, he earned his law degree from Suffolk University and two master's degrees from George Washington University. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Joe went on to a career in business, primarily in the travel industry as a Vice President of Human Resources and executive coach.  Joe was relentlessly devoted to his family, and they to him. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joe was a West Point classmate and we were in the same company. Later we both went to law school and joined the Judge Advocate General Corps. He had an exceptional career in all respects as a great professional and a man of integrity and loyalty. He embodied the themes we learned at West Point, a dedication to duty, honor, and country. It was an honor to know him and give this brief tribute to an extraordinary individual

Joe Dooley, my west point classmate and friend, was a man of great energy, integrity, and professionalism. As a cadet at west point we all sought his friendship, and he was a person with a clear vision of right and wrong, a great athlete, and a man of compassion and dedication. He will be missed. Our alma mater ends with these words: "And when our work is done, Our course on earth is run, May it be said 'Well done, Be thou at Peace." Joe Dooley - well done.

We are so sorry to hear about Joe´s passing. I had sent him an email on the 21st thanking him for seeing my potential 29 years ago when he hired me at USTravel. I wanted to thank him for that opportunity and for all the years of support because I retired from Corporate America that day. Without him, I would not have achieved the incredible success that I have in my career. I am eternally grateful or him and I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of this great man. To his family, may the contributions he made through his life and legacy bring you comfort.

Love and prayers for healing,

Deb Cruz and the entire Cruz Family
