On March 16, 2004, JOSEPH F. ENGEL, formerly of Huntington, NY and Sarasota, FL, died peacefully in Silver Spring, MD. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jeannette C. "Ginny" Engel, nee Gross. He was the devoted father of Joanne Engel Lansing of Rockville, Susan M. Engel MHSH of Towson, and Stephen J. Engel of East Northport, NY, and grandfather of Joseph, Kiersten, and Allison. His daughter by adoption, Danielle Murphy MHSH, daughter-in-law Karin, son-in-law Laurence, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and other extended family members also survive him. Mr. Engel was at one time a vaudeville entertainer, and was also an aeronautical engineer for Grumman Aerospace of Bethpage, NY. At 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Annunciation, 5212 McCormick Ave., Rosedale, MD 21206. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, 1001 West Joppa Rd., Towson, MD 21204.
