MORTON JOSEPH H. MORTON, P.M. On Tuesday, June 9, 2009 of Bryans Road, MD. Husband of Havannah S. Morton; father of Ava Jo Morton and Marcia M. Gutrick. Also surviving are son-in-law, C. Bobby Gutrick; grandchildren, Adriana and Alexys Gutrick and Phillip Watson; brother, Richard J. Marbray and a host of relatives and friends. Viewing, Tuesday, June 16, 9 to 10 a.m. at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Masonic Services will begin at 10:20 a.m. Service 11 a.m. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements by THORNTON Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joseph H. Morton Memorial Scholarship Fund; c/o Metropolitan United Methodist Church. Jerome F. Tinsley, W.M. James R. Lundy, P.M., Secy

To my second family... You know how much I love you. When he took me under his wing, I didn't know what to call him. Mr. Morton was so formal. Uncle Joe did not express my love, respect and the honor for him to call me one of his daughters. Then it came to me... Daddy Joe. He is in our hearts forever, so he will never be gone. I love you all...

Mr. Morton was always a kind man and a good friend to my late grandfather, Golden Evans. He always had a kind word to say. May the Lord, our God grant the family peace during this time of sorrow.
