SMITH, JOSEPH W.

Of Sterling, VA, on Sunday, December 30, 2001. Beloved husband of Louise E. Smith; father of Jo Ann Brooks of Forestville, MD, Capt. Darryl C. Smith Sr. of Herndon, VA, Bertell W. Smith of Sterling, VA, Adeena R. Smith of Atlanta, GA, Rene L. Smith of Sterling, VA and Kena M. Smith of Jersey City, NJ; son of the late Capt. Darwin E. and Ethel E. Smith; brother of Lillian Payne of Washington, D.C.; Berta Jean Brooks of Sterling, VA; Darwin E. Smith of Washington, D.C.; Daniel Smith of Reston, VA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, from 10 a.m. until service at 12 Noon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2516 Squirrel Hill Rd., Herndon, VA. Interment Quantico National Cemetery on Monday, January 7 at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, Herndon, VA.
