Josiah Weiss Obituary

WEISS

JOSIAH S. WEISS

It is with profound sadness that the family of Josiah Weiss announces his passing on April 11, 2023 in Falls Church, Virginia, after a long illness. He was 40 years old.

Josiah is survived by his wife Laura and daughter Adia; his father Paul Weiss; his brother Scott (Catherine) Springer, his brother Jason (Paulette) Merson; his brother Isaiah (Lilia) Weiss, his sister Piari Weiss, his brother Gabriel (Nikki) Weiss, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Alexandra Lounsbery.

Josiah was born and raised in Maine. He graduated from Bennington College, studying economics and political science, and attended New England Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctorate.

Josiah loved his family first and foremost, and was an excellent father of his biological and foster children. He loved his work, read voraciously, loved nature, and celebrated the arts. To know him was to be in the presence of a kind and gentle soul.

A memorial service for Josiah is scheduled for May 7, 2023 at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax in Oakton, Virginia.
