For my political communications class at the George Washington University, we were instructed to go to Arlington National Cemetery and find the names of a few soldiers who died in Iraq and do some research about them. One of the soldiers I found was Keisha Morgan. In researching Keisha, I am amazed by how many people got to know her and love her. I wish her family all of the best and may she rest in peace.

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

The Day that My World Stopped

The day that my world stopped
Was like any other
It wasn’t a special day
Only to a mother

The day that my world stopped
Was a normal day
I did the same things I always do
No I never had a clue
I just never knew

That halfway around the world
My heart had been broken
Taken away
Without a word spoken
Didn’t know at all that day
That you’d been taken away
And now you were gone
Into the dawn

Yes the day that my world stopped
Was like any other
Nothing different from any other day
Except that you were gone away

I wanted to be with you
And hold you in my arms
And speak with you once more
And let you really know
How wonderful you are
My beautiful, wonderful star

The last day I spoke with you
You had sounded so happy
You said you re-enlisted
Inside I felt so blue
Even though I tried
To sound happy for you

You felt as happy as could be
My darling girl, my Keisha Marie
You, my 1st baby girl,
Yes you were truly my pearl…

And then six short days later
A knock came at my door
To let me know you’d gone
I felt as if I’d fall through the floor

The day that my world stopped
My heart inside just dropped
Till that moment it was like any other
But Keisha I am your Mother
I cry for you every day
I can’t believe that you were taken away

For this ache in my heart I can’t fix
You were not yet 26
And now your home is in heaven
Since you’ve been gone I feel unwoven

Yes the day that my world stopped
Had been like any other
Except that now I miss you,
My Darling Keisha,
For I am your Mother

Love Mommy..........

My Darling Girl, you have been gone since Feb 22nd, and I have missed you everyday.....I always love you, my baby xoxoxoxo

Dear family of Spc. Keisha M. Morgan, I am so sorry for the loss of your hero. She was a hero in many ways to many people. She was helping to maintain our freedoms and helping to bring freedoms to those that have never known freedom before. I send many packages to contacts listed at AnySoldier.com. Your Keisha, being a volunteer contact for Any Soldier.com, was an angel to many in the field. She cared enough for her unit to help pass out mail to those who maybe did not receive any or as much mail as others. Helping them to know that they were supported, cared for and prayed for by us at home in the USA. What a true hero. Freedom isn’t free.
Keisha is so beautiful. I noticed she is from Washington DC. That is where my son was from. He also is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Thank you Spc. Keisha M. Morgan. We miss you greatly.
May God’s Holy Spirit grant your family comfort as they progress through grieving for the loss of their very special hero.

It is still hard for me to believe. I had began looking for Keisha so that she and I as well as our other friends(Courtney and Drea) could hook up and party like we used to. I had the pleasure of being her friend in high school at Cardozo. While we had not spoken in a while it hit me pretty hard when I heard the news. I will always love her we( the Million Dollar Honies) did so much together. She was a stunningly beautiful woman and it is amazing how many lives she touched. I send my condolences to her family. We miss you M$H!

To the Morgan Family,
First of all, I want to say that Iam sorry for your lost. I have also lost a dear friend. Morgan was one of the best friends that I have ever had. We had done so much together. I wish that I could go back into the hands of time, because I would have been with her and not let her go. Together, we made each other strong. I remember when Morgan first came to my unit. She was one of a kind. We did not click right off the back, but when we did, we were unseperable. She applied my first face of make up. I taught her how to drive. We did everything together. She was my roomate in Iraq the first tour, and back in Fort Hood. I couldnt see it as being anyone else. She was so live and had so much energy. When we were mad, we understood eachother enough to know exactly what to say to make things turn around. I remember seeing her right before she deployed the second time. She was so full of life and excited. I wanted us to go together. We didnt talk as often anymore, but I did think about her all the time. I had just found out I was pregnant, and thought to myself that I could not wait fro her to meet my baby. Morgan was one of the smartest and talented individual that I had ever met. We learned so much from eachother. I wish things could have been different. I will always love you Morgan, and I miss you dearly. If there was anything I could do to get you back in my life, I would do it in a heart beat. But I know that the Lord has made a great space for you and I just hope that you save room for me. My heart goes out to you all. R.I.P Morgan B.F.F

She was very beautiful and I am so sad for her family that she is gone. You are left with your memories and one day it will hurt a tiny bit less and the sting of loss will dimish a bit and what will shine through are the good times you enjoyed as a family. My heart aches for all of you.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I would also like to tell you about a website, http://groups.msn.com/SSPSoldierPor
traits/homepage,
where some wonderful people will make wood portraits of your fallen Hero for free for the immediate family. I became aware of this site when I wanted to do something special for Le Ron’s mother.

February 29, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Keisha was my great niece. I remember when she was just a little girl reading stories to her & Michael & David(her brothers). This was at my mom's residence. She was a very sweet little girl who had a wonderful personality. She turned out to be a very lovely young lady who seemed to have her life in order & knew what she wanted out of life. She will be greatly missed by all & I feel God had something very special He needed her to do & that is why He called her home. Our prayers go out to her parents ,grandparents & her siblings.

I can't even find the words...I lost my 19 year old son--5 Sept 2007, Balad, Iraq. I can't help but wonder if Keisha knew my son...if she didn't she knows him now--as he is waiting for his brothers and sisters in arms. I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" ~Rev 21:4
What a wonderful thought...
May God bless SPC Keisha M. Morgan, God bless you and your family and God bless America!

Contact me if you want to talk. I would like to talk with you...perhaps we can comfort each other in some way.
