I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Hogan’s passing. I will be forever grateful to the Hogan Family for their unwavering kindness and generosity at a time when I didn’t appreciate how much I needed it. I was introduced to Kevin and Lucy and of course John through my college friend, their delightful son, Paul. Kevin was incredibly patient with me as I was an insufferable early twenty something at the time. I didn’t have family close by, and as a fellow Midwesterner living in DC, Kevin and Lucy made me feel like I had a home away from home. Kevin took me with his family to my first Mass. Before scouting culinary talent was fashionable, Kevin and Lucy would include me for meals all over the DC area. True tastemakers indeed! Any culture that I was able to absorb then was most certainly Kevin and Lucy’s influence- how lucky is that? Even more blessed was being a guest for a home cooked meal, with Lucy at the helm and Kevin, the devoted sous-chef. Dinner entertainment was Kevin’s expertise; I remember such laughter. The love, respect and partnership that I was honored to witness was something so precious. I am thankful to Kevin, Lucy, Paul and John because some of my happiest college memories involve their loving family. It is my sincere hope that this love is what carries you and your families through. Kevin’s smile coupled with laughter as his eyes would start to water could not possibly be forgottennot in a million years. God bless.

I have known Kevin Hogan for 30 years. I first was a patient at the Columbia Medical and when it closed I lost contact . After trying other practices here in Columbia , I found Dr. Hogan in Frederick, well worth the drive from Columbia.
At every visit I felt welcomed . We always had a catch up with Columbia news, what restaurants were great, some politics and many laughs . What a lovely man!
To his family ,partners, co workers, staff and friends , I share your sadness and encourage each one to think like Kevin...humanity first and then the technical stuff .

As colleagues of Kevin from Howard County, it was with great sadness that we learned of his tragic passing. We knew Kevin from the mid-80s at CMP, where he made the dermatology section known for its outstanding care & compassion.
Years later, when we needed a dermatologist we sought out Kevin for his clinical excellence & kindness. Our deepest sympathy to his family & friends.

Dr. Hogan was a very generous man. He took time to treat my 96 yr old father who was visiting me from SC during the Christmas holidays a few years ago. They quickly found out that they had alot in common as my dad was a retired Navy WWII vet. I will always remember Dr. Hogan's warmth and kindness shown to him. My sympathies to Mrs. Hogan and her family.

Although my connection with Kevin Hogan was in his role as my dermatologist, I felt him to be my personal friend since he was always so friendly, and since he always remember things we talked about on the last time I was in his office, such as where I had gone on vacation. He was truly a gentleman in the best meaning of that word, and was one of the kindest and most compassionate persons I have known. I was so saddened to learn of his death, and I will miss him very much. I send my condolences to his family and co-workers.

Dr. Hogan was an amazing dermatologist who always came met his patients with a smile on his face and made you feel at ease. I was his patient throughout my high school and college years and he always remembered even the smallest details about me when I would come in for a check up. He was one of the most personable providers I have ever met, and my family, would say the same. I am so sad to hear of his passing and he will be missed by so many. I knew Kevin primarily from our time together at Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown, DC. We were the same age and became friends. We served together on the parish's Religious Education Committee and I asked Kevin to consider serving as the committee chair when the time came for me to move on. I knew of his commitment to the parish and to catechesis and was certain he would serve well in that role. I was not mistaken. My wife and I also had the joy of serving with Kevin and his amazing wife Lucy in several other Holy Trinity ministries. We missed them when they move to Frederick, MD, but knew they loved their new life there. Rest in peace, dear Kevin! Lucy and your family will be in my prayers.
