KEVIN GEORGE HYLIND  
Entered his eternal home on June 13, 2017 at the age of 66. He was the beloved son of Mary J. and the late Commander Kenneth G. Hylind, United States Navy. As the son of a naval officer, he lived in New York, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Cuba. He played baseball for the Wrens as a catcher in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; was a dance champion in Rhode Island; was a Boy Scout in Bethesda, MD; as an altar boy, received the Ad Altare Dei Award; and was a Life Scout. He was gregarious and gave great bear hugs. He graduated from St. Jane de Chantal in Bethesda, MD and St. John's College High School in Washington, DC, and attended the University of Maryland. He worked for some 30 years as a Master Printer in Philadelphia and, after his retirement, he worked for eight years as a part-time driver for FedEx. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving children, Mary (Elkin), Kenneth (Amy), Kevin (Shannon), Carolann, Sean and Katie (Juan). He was the very proud grandfather of 13 amazing grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Eileen, his 'Irish Twin'; and six brothers, Paul (Lydia), Mark (Nancy), Kenneth (Linda), William (Tricia), James (Amy), and John (Agnes); two aunts, Johanna Albani, Boca Raton, FL, and Carol Ann Grant, Dayton, MD; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, George in 1984. Services will be held on June 21 at St. Jane de Chantal Church in Bethesda, MD, beginning with visitation at 10 a.m., followed by Holy Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD, following Mass.
