BROOKS

KIMBERLY ANN BROOKS (Age 65)

Beloved sister to Priscilla Joseph, Caroline Montague and David Brooks, special friend Russel Klip, and Beloved aunt to three generations of nieces and nephews passed away on January 29, 2022. Kim was born in Washington, DC in 1956, grew up in Falls Church, Virginia and after college resided in Frederick, Maryland. In her adult years, Kim committed to her field of study, gerontology and the healing power of massage. Kim was a compassionate supporter of people with Parkinson's disease, finding many ways to bring quality of life and comfort to those suffering from Parkinson's. One of Kim's great accomplishments in her field was teaching a very well-respected Parkinson's Wellness Therapy Method.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Pollyanna Brooks, sister-in-law Melanie Brooks and brothers-in-law David Joseph and David Montague. Kim was also a fierce defender of the rights of animals, believer in humane treatment to all living creatures and a had a deep compassion for the ageing. A memorial service is being planned for later in the spring.

I took some Tai Chi Gi Gong classes at St. Luke´s from Kim. I always left more calm and felt peaceful. Her face radiated joy, enthusiasm and kindness I am very sad that she is gone. Thank you for posting these class pictures. It helps. Wonderful memories

We're so sorry for your loss. Kim lives on in our memory for all she did to help my husband to stay fit both physically and mentally in the struggle with Parkinsons. Her commitment, humor, integrative approach to health and love will long be remembered. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to you. It certainly is to us.

Kim's Mom was my Mom's baby sister.
Kim and I shared a bedroom one summer while my mother attended summer school after my father died.
That summer we grew from being just cousins to sisters-at-heart. Ever since, we'd chat and laugh about Life and where our paths were taking us.
I have been happy that her life took her on such a wonderfully spiritual and helpful path.
I am thankful that she was able to finish her exercise DVD after many years of effort and enjoy doing the exercises even though I do not have Parkinson's.
You go, girl!
I am saddened that her life on this earth ended so soon. I still hear her laughter, see her dimples and picture her smiling at us.
Peace, Kim.

I have been a friend and student in Kim's Oasis Yoga class for a number of years. She was a knowledgeable teacher and a caring, fun, and wonderful friend. I will miss her and send my heartfelt sympathy to Rusty and her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I took many Tai Chi classes from Kim through Oasis at St Luke´s Episcopal Church. I learned so much from Kim about connecting the physical with the spiritual. I can still hear her voice in my head, counting. She had, and was, a special gift.

I offer my sympathy to Kim´s sisters, brother, and Rusty. Kim has been my friend and sorority sister for 47 years. I will miss her stories, all priceless. They always made me laugh. She could always turn a bad day into a happy one with her wit and compassion. I will miss our daily group texts about anything and everything.
Bless you always my dear friend.

Kim would teach classes on Wednesday at St Marks in Bethesda to a wonderful dedicated groups of Adults fighting Parkinson's. I am sure this news saddens all of us who knew her. I am forever grateful for the time and care she gave to my mother Athena, and everyone in the room we were so honored to be in her presence. Our deepest sympathies to Kim's partner and family. She will never be forgotten. May her memory be eternal....
