Larry Elgin Edwards (Age 72)
Of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, June 24 in Aldie, Virginia. Larry was the owner of AAA Disposal and co-owner of American Disposal.Larry is well-known for his work ethic and his generosity.Larry is survived by his wife, sister, 7 children, and 14 grandchildren (with two on the way).Larry was a father, husband, brother, uncle, grandaddy, friend, generous employer and was loved by many. He will be sorely missed. Graveside service on July 2, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Capital Caring Adler Center in Aldie, Virginia.

My grandmother and grandfather used to take me to his parents house all the time on Scott Dr. I know them as aunt Betty and uncle Shelton. I really never met Larry that I can remember. But I do send my condolences to the family. I do know he was a very good man and my father William M. Sprouse R.I.P talked of him and told me how they started the trash service. So I'm glad he touched many lives and made a good life for his family and loved ones.

I grew up with Larry on Scott Drive in Fairfax. I spent many hours playing croquet with Larrys sister Winnie. Larrys mom, Grace and his Dad, Shelton were wonderful to me. My only complaint about Larry was when we were playing jump rope on the playground at Westmore Elementary, he tripped me with the rope and I broke my front tooth. I was seven at the time and was not able to get my tooth capped until I was 16. I teased him about it the rest of his life.

There is soo much we would like to share but we are at a loss for words. Larry has been a big part of our life for the last 20 or so years, Larry started out as our employer and became a genuine friend n mentor. I am a community manager who has worked with Larry since the mid 80's with AAA and American Disposal and he was a one of a kind company owner who sought to teach his employees (and us managers) lessons and he will be missed.

So sorry to hear this. What a great guy. We hung out a lot together our sophomore year - just a group of us walking around together. I remember one of my friends ran into him at the Circle where he announced he had bought his first truck. Definitely ahead of his time with all the new Hoa communities in the County needing trash service. What a legacy both personally and professionally he created.
