LEISA SWARTZ Obituary

Leisa Marie Swartz
Peacefully passed into her eternal glory on the evening of Septembr 26, 2021. Leisa was embraced by love and family. She was 56 years young, and is survived by her wife of 18 years, Jamie D. Davis, Ph.D.; her father David Swartz; her brothers Mike Swartz and Nick Kremonas; her sisters-in-law Ann Swartz, Star Kremonas, and Jen Kremonas; nephews Ben, Dan, Trevor, Bo, Zack, Taylor; her nieces Lily Claire and Emi; her aunt Rose and uncle Bill; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Susan Allen Kremonas, whom she loved dearly; her hilariously funny, but no less loving brother Chris; and her step-father, Joseph. Leisa lived in Montgomery County most of her life. She attended Rockville High, where she excelled in sports, particularly softball and basketball. She graduated with her RN in 1995, and worked at Fairfax Radiology from 1995 to 2003 and 2005 to 2007 and at Anne Arundel Medical Center from 2009 to 2018. She was a brilliant nurse, skilled in the art and science of Nursing. She knew how to infuse laughter and kindness into her days with her patients, their families, and her colleagues. She also loved finance, graduating summa cum laude with a business degree in finance in 2002 from University Maryland University College because she loved finance. Leisa and Jamie moved to Riverside, CA in 2003 and returned to Montgomery County in 2004; they sought a quieter life and moved to Denton in 2007. Leisa and Jamie moved to Annapolis in 2013 where they built a home and settled in. When gay marriage was legalized in Washington DC, Leisa and Jamie looked at each other and set a date - August 12, 2010, exactly seven years after their first date. Leisa was good at a lot of things, but loving others was #1. Leisa's love of humanity was boundless - she enjoyed meeting new people and being with her wife and friends whom she loved dearly as they loved her. Her life celebration is November 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD and continues at Carrol's Creek at 4 p.m., 410 Severn Avenue, Annapolis. MD. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Indian College Fund and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
