Hello my Brother and my Friend,

I cannot believe it has been 8 years since the Lord called you home from your labor of love that you shared with us on earth. You have done so much for my life that words cannot express how grateful I am for the Lord to let you come into my life in 1984 and for us to share a journey together for the next 33 years.

You have not only touched my life but those of my family and friends as you have done with everyone you have met during your life. I cannot thank you enough and thank God for you.

Rest well my Brother and my Friend until we see each other again. Love you always

I called Dr. Anthony "pastor " as he was just that for me. I was a Christian when I met him. I had a home church and church family. I took my questions to him. I attended Tuesday night Bible study. Soon he had me talking and comforting others, as I have an MD plus Ph.D in psychology. This was what I needed to heal ME.
I miss him. He taught me those little idiosyncrasies I never considered. I am a AME, however the AMEZ opened me up to new friends , new scriptures and new experiences. As long as I live, I will never the Revered Doctor Lewis Anthony.

Rev. Lewis Anthony´s spirit lives on. I often pass Metropolitan AMEZ Church on North Capital Street in Washington, DC where he pastored. I can still hear him saying, "short people are going to rule the world."We could literally see eye to eye. To know him was to love and appreciate his brilliance. I heard him preach Sunday (5.22.2022) on Howard University´s WHUR radio station. It was from one of his sermons at Rankin Chapel. The message is still relevant today. I just smiled. My friend Lewis´ spirit still lives on.

I met my Pastor Anthony while still in RAP, Inc. as the Education Dept. Head I invited him to give a seminar to the residents of the program. He made such an impact on me at that time just listening to him and the kindness he showed. Later I became pregnant and my son he was like a God-Dad and mentor to. We will never forget the wonderful lessons he taught us about ministry and Christ. The impact that we feel will never be what the family will experience. Our deepest sympathy is for and with the family and loved ones of our dear Pastor Anthony. May God continue to always show you kindness that comforts you, sympathy to warm and sustain you, and cherished memories to bring peace to your heart.

Mrs. Carter and family,

May God keep you at this difficult time. Pastor Anthony was an incredible warrior in the fight for saving souls, with a unique gift and love for young people. I first heard Pastor Anthony speak at the age of 8 during one of his regular visits to Mt. Rona Baptist Church. He inspired me with his story of how God assisted him in attending Harvard. I was so touched that I immediately approached him after service to learn more. He didn't turn me away, but encouraged me in both my spiritual and scholastic pursuits and he was correct. God blessed me in many of the ways that Pastor Anthony revealed. Over the years, we would periodically see each other at various church events and he still remembered and further encouraged me. His willingness to work with and sacrifice for not only me, but countless other young people was unparalleled. There are unlimited numbers who have been led to Christ or into deeper relationship with Christ through ministry because of his acceptance of his call. While his work is done, rest in the knowledge that he helped prepare Christian soldiers to put on the WHOLE armor of God and continue the fight. I, for one, was irrevocably changed because of his willingness to teach Christianity in a way that I could grasp, making faith a life choice and not just a religion.

To the Anthony Family and Our Community:

Rev. Dr. Anthony, our newest Ancestor, is a powerful force. In physical life, he was a Man of God, an intellectual of the first order, and a human being who played a role in the lives of others in major and minor ways. Every interaction with him left me with an unearned blessing of instruction, counsel, insight and/or commensuration. He will live forever, his soul rising like the sun and his words echoing in the minds and souls of all he touched and all who are touched by them as a result.

To Rev. Anthony's Family:

God blesses us by placing anointed persons among us; ordained to appear in our lives to fulfill His promise to never leave or forsake us in our greatest time of need. Rev. Anthony was that anointed spirit for our family when he answered God's call (through my husband's grandson, Dorioan) and so eloquently delivered the eulogy for my husband's homegoing service, nearly 4 years ago, He will always be remembered as a truly gifted spirit led by God. May he be rewarded with God's Glory for being His good and faithful servant through many things.
